20/03/2007 INFORMATION STATEMENT FOR FOUR WINDS MONTESSORI SCHOOL INC. A Description of the Academic Program The academic subjects of math, language, sensorial, practical life experiences and cultural subjects are based on the Montessori Method. Art, Music, French and Gym are also included in our program. Dr. Maria Montessori believed that children have an innate curiosity through which spontaneous activity develops their individual desire to learn. This natural curiosity, if encouraged, will reinforce a need for continued discovery and enhance the love of learning for learning's sake. The staff believes each individual learns in different ways. They organize and prepare for the children to have personalized programs of study in which they can move at their own pace and level. This program offers any child the challenge and opportunity to excel toward his/her greatest potential while maintaining a clear understanding of what is being learned. The History of Our School Four Winds Montessori School has been in operation since 1996. In 1996, we opened our doors with 8 students and have now grown to a population of 110 students. The goals of Four Winds Montessori School are to provide children ages 3 through age 13, a safe, nurturing, and academically stimulating environment. In this environment every child can develop a positive self-image, confidence, and fundamental academic understanding. The school takes pride in a quality early childhood education program. We believe the early years of education are what form a strong solid foundation for academic achievement in the future. Annual Student Evaluations Report cards are completed and given out for each child twice a year. The first report card goes out in January and the second report card goes out at the end of June.
